With each new CD album,
our dear fruitarian friend Patrick Bernard never fails to surprise as he takes
us up new magical paths to divine grace. I’ve listened to most of the greatest
New Age musicians since the genre first appeared, and if Patrick is not the finest
of them all I don’t know who is. I think even Mozart would be delighted
by Sonic Feng Shui.
This is Patrick’s first purely instrumental CD—yet
another stunning shift in style from Patrick’s previous recordings. Anyone,
including the most ardent Patrick Bernard aficionado, will be awed by the elegant
and masterful ambient soundscaping textures of Sonic Feng Shui.
As Patrick revealed in our Living Nutrition Volume 14
interview, each of his albums has a specific purpose. It’s also apparent
that each is infused with a spirit of sacred adventure. After my first listen,
Sonic Feng Shui evoked the question: “Just how many new stylistic gems are
crystallizing within the imagination of this musical pioneer?”
I don’t think it’s a stretch to compare the
diversity and uniqueness of Patrick’s albums with Nature’s cornucopia
of fruits. Just imagine the distinct uniqueness of perfectly ripe raspberries,
peaches, cherimoyas, melons and so forth....like his music, an endless cavalcade
of enlivening delight.
The tracks are titled: “Flowing Like Chi,”
Water & Wealth,” “The Art of Sound Design,” “Intuitive
Harmony,” “Healthy Landscaping” and “Blessing of Abundance.”
Within those masterful symphonic compositions, gorgeous, undulating synthesizer
rhythms, tender acoustic guitar, sweet electric slide guitar voicings, flute,
shimmering chimes and bells, acoustic percussion, echoing rain forest bird
calls and crystal clear water sounds evoke spacious atmospheres of nurturing warmth,
harmony and consciousness expansion. The Nature elements and thoroughly brilliant
sound mastering really bring this album to life. Listening, I am transported to
unbounded dimensions beyond time where I am immersed in essential states of serenity
and happiness. What luxury!
For that reason, Sonic Feng Shui is my favorite work-time
music. (It’s playing now, set on “repeat.”) After a day’s
work with this CD playing, I typically feel fresh and vivified as if the day has
only just begun. Indeed, some of the CD’s stated purposes are to: “enrich
your environment...create balance...make you feel at ease in your home and your
workspace...help you harness the flow of positive life energy....evoke the mood
of health, wealth and success...and bring blessings and abundance.”
Sonic Feng Shui brings the energetic elements of your
life into harmonious and graceful balance, and with that comes the most precious
gift: health. Thank you for this blessing, Patrick!
