Subject: Codex Alimentarius
Dear Congressman (or Senator):
Are you aware of the Codex Alimentarius global food codification
agenda and how it would affect our freedom-of-choice rights and
the health of our nation's people?
Most citizens, governmental representatives and law makers are
unaware of the big picture regarding this paramount issue. The
major press and most of the alternative press have not covered
it. It is being implemented very gradually and quietly on a global
scale, and I and many other people firmly believe that the United
States must avoid harmonizing our food and health safety laws
and regulations with those of Codex Alimentarius.
I have attached an in-depth article on Codex Alimentarius which
appears in Living Nutrition magazine vol. 20. It was co-written
and edited by the attorney Scott Tips, who is the president of
the Natural Health Federation (a nonprofit organization based
in southern California) and a delegate member of the Codex Alimentarius
Commission. Mr. Tips has attended and participated in every Codex
Alimentarius Commission committee meeting and he is apparently
as well-informed as anyone. Please read the article and let me
know your thoughts.
Our harmonization with Codex Alimentarius standards would essentially
ruin our natural health industries, giving total power to big
corporations and accelerating our nation's declining health status.
Harmonization with Codex Alimentarius would soon: put an end to
our pure organic food standards; allow genetic modification of
most seeds; permit irradiation and chemicalization of most foods;
and drive out all but the largest food supplement companies. This
would give a monopoly to big agrochemical, genetic engineering,
chemical food processing and pharmaceutical/neutraceutical corporations,
effectively reversing most of the strides made in the last four
decades by our natural health industries and some of our natural
resource protection efforts. In essence, most American citizens
would lose their rights to have access to truly healthful foods,
to live well and to be healthy, further overburdening our nation's
failing healthcare (actually, "disease-care") system.
Please protect our health freedoms here at home. Please work
toward exposing the Codex Alimentarius agenda and stopping any
weakening of our food and health safety laws by harmonization
with Codex Alimentarius standards via CAFTA, NAFTA and the WTO.
Please support the Health Freedom Protection Act (H.R.2117) by
signing on as a cosponsor. As the United States' current and future
welfare is tied to our people's health, we must not allow harmonization
with Codex Alimentarius to happen.
